A short time later, Darovit ran into Kiel Charny and his troops as they hunted the Sith. This was what Darovit had been looking for by coming to Ruusan. Joining up with the squad, Darovit and the Jedi tracked a legion of Sith to an open plain. There Darovit fought in his first true campaign, wielding Torr Snapit's lightsaber. Although he was inexperienced, Darovit held his own, managing to kill two Sith minions, including a monstrous alien soldier more than five times his size. When the battle was over, Kiel Charny and the Jedi felt something was wrong, that something was not right with the battle. Then Jedi Knight Rajan had it, there had been not one Sith Lord had been involved in the battle, only Sith minions.

As it happened, up and coming Sith Lord Darth Bane organized the Sith into a collective meditation that created a Force storm to ravage the surface of Ruusan, destroy the forests, and decimate the Jedi. Fortunately for the Jedi, the Sith failed to fully carry out Darth Bane's plan. The Sith quit the session halfway through in order to finish the job themselves. Back on the battlefield, Kiel Charny found most of his troops killed by the rampaging Force storms. Darovit was one of the lucky few to survive. However, the Sith soon arrived and launched an aerial attack to finish them off.

The day was saved by the arrival of Jedi Knight Valenthyne Farfalla who took out many of the Sith on his way to Jedi Master Hoth's camp. While Farfalla managed to destroy most of the Sith fighters, a woman named Githany survived. After her speeder crashed, Darovit watched as she engaged Kiel Charny with a lightwhip. During the battle, Darovit saw how Githany overpowered Charny, how strong the Dark Side had allowed her to become. In the end, power was all Darovit sought and everything he had seen since coming to Ruusan had led him to believe the Jedi were weak. With Kitl Charny driven to his knees, Darovit ignited his lightsaber and moved in to behead the Jedi commander. With that act, Darovit officialy joined the Brotherhood of Darkness and apprenticed himself to Githany.

Unfortunately, Darovit did not find the power and the glory he was looking for even after joining the Sith. Sleeping in mud and forced to wear the bloodstained battle armor of a fallen Sith warrior, Darovit soon came to realize that war was simply not good for anybody. Meeting up with the Twi'lek Kopecz, Darovit and Githany discovered that Lord Kaan had gone insane and was planning to unleash a thought bomb that would destroy both the Jedi and Sith forces. Upon hearing this, Githany realized the Sith would not be defeated by the Jedi, but rather from within. Taking Darovit, she left to find Lord Bane.
